Hull man wins £2 million on lottery

A 27-year-old man from Hull is to finally leave home after winning nearly £2 million in the EuroMillions lottery last month.

Oliver Milner said at a news conference in Hull that he was still coming to terms with winning £1,944,322 but said he will use part of the money to move out of his mother's place and buy his own home.

Mr Milner said he bought the winning ticket at the last minute at a Tesco garage in August and nearly missed the 7.30pm deadline because of the long queue at the till.

He only found out the next day that he had won the EuroMillions jackpot.

His mother Dianne Walker, who was sitting next to him at the news conference, said she was "delighted" with her son's windfall.

She added: "It's every parent's dream to know that their children are financially secure for the rest of their lives. I'm delighted. And at last he's moving out."
