A Hull building was cordoned off while armed police kept watch over the wellbeing of a man inside after a 'major firearms incident'.
Humberside Police attended the building in Ripon Way, east Hull, at around 07.30am today.
Police were alerted after a member of the public became worried about what was happening inside the building. Police reported that a 29-year-old male had been arrested.
People living close by were informed about an "ongoing major incident involving firearms".
While armed police kept watch over the cordoned off area, an ambulance was also waiting in case of an emergency.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said that officers managed to pacify the party involved without use of police firearms.
