As of 19 June 2007, we are providing our customers with a new and improved email anti-spam and email anti-virus solution.
The new system will give better protection from unsolicited email, viruses and trojans, saving your inbox from getting cluttered, and helping to safeguard your valuable data.
With the new solution, you should experience a significant decrease in unwanted email as the supplier we are using is recognised as the best-in-class across the ISP industry. Ironport is a highly trusted and reputable provider of anti-spam and anti-virus software across the globe, and is proven to detect over 80% of unwanted email.
However, very occasionally, an email can get trapped in 'quarantine'. This is because the system is unsure whether the origin of the email is reliable or not, and therefore traps the email for you to assign as 'spam' or 'not spam'. Emails in the quarantine folder are available to access for up to 21 days from receipt.
You may also find that your anti-spam filtering settings change during the introduction of the new service. This is because some of the functions have been automated to make it easier for you to use. We will also be adding more features to the service later this year allowing us to provide you with even greater protection and flexibility, whilst staying ahead of the spammers.
Here are some common questions and answers about anti-spam.
How do I set up my anti-spam?
You don't actually need to set up your anti-spam. Karoo automatically applies default settings to your email to do this for you. However, if you wish to change these you can go to the anti-spam section in Karoo Help and follow the instructions from there.
How do I access my quarantined spam?
You can access your quarantine spam folder here. All you need is your username and password.
Alternatively you can log into 'My Account' via the Karoo homepage, log into the Karoo Control Panel and click on 'View Your Spam Quarantine'.
To ensure you don't run out of storage space, we empty your Anti-Spam Junk Email Folder every 21 days.
