How can I write my pages?
There are three ways to write your web pages:
What is an index page?
If you do not have an index page, anyone going to, for example, http://www.username.karoo.net/
would get nothing rather than getting webpage, and you would have to publicise
your address as, for example, http://www.username.karoo.net/somepage.htm.
As people could see the contents of the directory, they could always just
download your images without looking at the actual pages. If you save,
and upload, a webpage with the name index.htm or index.html,
if someone types in http://www.username.karoo.net/ they would get
this index page, also known as a homepage.
How do I transfer my files to the server?
To transfer the files to the server, you need an FTP program. Our guide
to using your webpages includes links to the FTP programs we recommend
you use to transfer your files. Answers about FTP settings are answered
here.
