Football skill tips - Volleying

Volleying is a difficult manoeuvre, it involves striking a ball while still in the air, making accuracy harder.
- Balance yourself with your arms
- Visualise where you think the ball is going to arrive
- Bring the kicking leg through. The knee should be slightly bent, with the toes pointing down and the ankle held firm
- Strike the centre or top half of the ball with the instep and keep your head over the ball to keep your volley down
- Don't bring the kicking leg through too quickly as the volley will be difficult to control
- Try to keep your non-kicking foot in contact with the ground as it will keep you steady
