Why would I want it?
Call Barring gives you greater control over your phone bill and prevents certain types of calls being made. It allows you to bar calls to one of the below 7 categories.
There are 7 types of call barring categories:
- Local
- National (Including mobile and numbers starting 01, 02 & 08)
- International
- Operator (DQ)
- Premium (Adult & Chat)
- Premium (Info & Entertainment)
- Kingston Choices
What do I have to do?
Decide which category you wish to bar and contact our Customer Services Consultants, using the method below that suits you best. They will then activate it for you. Once activated, you can control of this service and of outbound calls made from your phone as you can make calls to the barred numbers with a simple PIN number security system.
Anything else I need to know?
There are 3 types of Call Barring to choose from:
- Permanent – you can bar calls to certain categories permanently through our Customer Services Consultants
- Pre-arranged – you can bar a selection of categories through our Customer Services Consultants, but you will have a PIN number to activate should you wish to call
- Selective – you choose which categories you would like to bar, however you can change the barred categories by using your phone and a personal PIN number which you will have been supplied
What will it cost me?
Permanent:
- £14.10 connection or disconnection fee
Customer Controlled:
- £14.10 Connection fee plus £21.15 annual rental charge
- £14.10 to change barring categories, or change of pin number
How do I set it up?
- To activate: press * 3 4 (code number) # (Repeat to activate next category)
- To check: press * # 3 4 #
- To cancel: # 3 4 (code number) * PIN #
- To cancel all categories: # 3 4 1 * PIN #

To ensure your phone line is free at all times. This is especially useful if you have a monitored alarm system that needs to be kept clear at all times.
